arrow/cursor feature during freeze frame

Postby mattwinn » Thu Nov 21, 2019 6:37 pm

Hi everyone, Some of you may remember i work with basketball clips to observe officials.
I am wondering if there is a pointer feature to utilize during freeze frames so I can talk and move the pointer over the frrozen frame while I talk about certain players in the frame.
Example: a frozen frame with ten players on two teams in the frame. I want to point to each player and describe aspects of each player/matchup. Moving a pointer or cursor type arrow to point as I
talk. This cursor/arrow is part of the project not the cursor on the PC. Thanks.

You could keyframe an arrow file with a transparent background to move to each player. Here are free ones from Wikimedia commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:U%2B2190.svg

I am not familiar with Premiere Elements, but you may be able to create a title with an arrow and then keyframe the title to move.

An easier option to keyframing an arrow is to create a name title for each player and place on the player. You could then fade in and out while speaking.

The spotlight method might be a lot easier than the arrow pointer. When I am watching the Pro Basketball games they use the spotlight method quite a bit.
