Need Help Fast

Postby Ric » Mon Feb 04, 2019 9:48 am

I used Premier for years but only use it about 4 times a year for different video and audio projects.

Yesterday I opened Premier and started to load my video for some video I shot with my camcorder and now when I drop the video into the storyboard I don't have audio. But when I click on the file on my computer it goes into windows media player and I see the video and hear the audio so I know its there but why wont it show up in my storyboard as and audio file like it used too? I have a short clip that I need to edit right away but need to see the music clip in my storyboard. Any ideas?

It depends. Are you on Windows 7?

With version 2018, Adobe removed support for AC3 Dolby Digital audio from the program.

Mac OS and Windows 8 and 10 provide support. But, if you're using Windows 7, you won't be able to load AC3 audio into a Premiere Elements 2018 or 2019 project.

Yes I'm still using Windows 7 I'm going up update windows but not yet. So I'm guessing I need to load my older version of Premier correct?

Thanks Steve reloading the older version worked. So when I get the newer version of windows Premier version 18 will work like it used to with both video and audio tracks showing up in the storyboard?

Install the newer version without uninstalling the older version.
The newer version may work if the older version installed the proper codecs.
