Under $250 is a pretty darn good price for those features!

That's what I thought too. The gimbal is pretty good and the video quality seems really good too. It beats the shake of the drones without a gimbal. And it comes with 2 batteries for about 1/2 hour each battery. All in all not a bad choice.

I kind of looks like a cross between a Parrot ANAFI and a DJI Mavic. I need to to a little more research on quality.

That's nice video from this drone. I've been saving up for a drone that has better video capability. Not sure this is the one, but pretty impressive for the cost.

I agree this would be my choice too. Or a used DJI Spark Combo as I think that is a really solid drone too.

I found a couple of places.

1. Banggood: https://usa.banggood.com/MJX-Bugs-16-Pr ... gJc9vD_BwE

2. EBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/384085907348?c ... gLlcPD_BwE

EBay is cheaper but it is shipping from china so you need to factor in Shipping time when purchasing.

Mr. Finch.
I know nothing about drones and you seem to have much knowledge on them. Is this a very good beginner model or would you recommend something different?
I want to go down this road and try drones but I know there will be crashes so being able to get spare parts readily fast is important also.
Thanks
Richard

I think it is a matter of perspective and what you are looking to do. This is a great drone but the value in this drone is that for the price it comes with a three axis gimbal and a 4k camera system which is pretty decent for the price. And the battery life is pretty good too. 25 minutes is a good flight time.

But are you looking to record video and then edit it.... (this is a good drone to do that) or, are you just wanting to practice flying and not concerned with recording video to edit... (there are cheaper alternatives).

I terms of replacement parts you can replace batteries and props but any kind of crash that breaks an arm or a motor replacements are not worth the cost and you need to be pretty savvy working on the drones.

What the price comes down to is the quality of the camera and gimbal. advertising is very deceptive for drones when they list specs. The off brand needs to be researched for quality. I also seek out youtubers that review drones for better insight. If you see a budget drone (which this is) reviewed by multiple sites that is a great indicator for the drone.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for that info. Just what I was looking for.
I'm sure I want for video, absolutely. But I need to learn how to fly.
Drones have always been in the back of my mind. When I see the prices lately the more it is affordable for beginner.
And beside my youngest daughter mentioned she liked drones last year or probably before pandemic but hasn't brought it up since and I would like to surprise her with it.
Looking at Drones if my memory serves me right were much more pricey at BestBuy back then but now I can afford them for my daughter.
Thanks
Richard

Richard I think your daughter would be happy with this drone.

I would recommend that after you do all the farmwear updates and calibrate the drone ( dont forget to download the app too) make sure you take it to a very open field and practice without flying too high. When the drone is facing you it takes a bit to remember that the controls are now backward.

I hope it goes well and let us know how it turns out.
