Took The Plunge...

... and purchased a drone. I first bought the Mavic Mini and was so impressed, I sold it and upgraded to the Mavic Air 2. Needless to say I'm hooked.

Here's one of the first flights I made flying around my town with the MA2. A little straight flying, FPV mode and a pinch of time-lapse.

Still lots to learn. I did realize quickly that my computer has a hard time with 4k, 60 fps.

The overall features are quite impressive for the price point. They also promise more upgrades to the firmware... one of which I'm hoping for --- Waypoint missions (which is only currently available with the Hyper-lapse modes.

Ron this is so cool. I like the video too. The Mavic Air 2 is a really nice drone you are going to have a blast with it. You might consider doing a proxy edit with the 4k footage as it is less taking on your machine.

It is hard to describe the feeling of flying one but they are fun and scary all at the same time. I look forward to you posting more drone videos in the coming months.

So that makes You, Steve, Pazz and myself as the fledging drone squad..... lol

Awesome work, Ron! You may be a rookie, but you're already approaching Sidd Finch territory.

BTW, is that your pool? You can't get cooler than your own drone AND your own indoor pool!

A great adventure, Ron! I know drones are pretty commonplace now, but it still amazes me that just a few years ago it would have taken a flying machine worth tens of thousands of dollars to get shots like these. Looking forward to your next one. ::CLAP:

Congrats on the new drone Ron. Looks good and I liked the time-lapse. Just in time for Fall colors up your way.

Looks great, Ron!

River or lake? So blue. And I like your house too. (Ours needs a new roof. I can't believe I haven't thought of flying up there to see how much damage we have!)
