Aerial shot of the new Apple II Campus

Postby sidd finch » Thu Feb 08, 2018 11:26 am

The Apple II Campus is the brand new Apple headquarters building that has recently been completed. It has also been referred to as a giant space-ship because of the giant round design. I was really surprised at bow bright the building was at night. It is so secluded from the public view that you cannot see it from the street view.

The Spark was at about 300 feet so I was reluctant to try to go any higher.

Get close enough that Apple security shoots you down. That’ll make for some great footage!

That's why I like you Dave. You are always 100% in. I need to consult you for movie ideas for my next flick.

What's their electric bill?

From Wikipedia.

Apple states that the entire complex may eventually be powered entirely from renewable energy. The whole site is one of the most energy-efficient buildings in the world.[1] The solar panels installed on the roof of the campus can generate 17 megawatts of power, sufficient to power 75% during peak daytime,[24] and making it one of the biggest solar roofs of the world. The other 4 megawatts are generated onsite using Bloom Energy Server fuel cells, which are powered by biofuel or natural gas.[25] The air flows freely between the inside and outside of the building, providing natural ventilation and obviating the need for HVAC systems during nine months of the year.[1]
