retrieve backup?

Postby abgtc » Tue Mar 05, 2019 10:53 am

I recently did a complicated editing job, exported the final version, deleted the original, unedited video file and the Premiere project... then discovered an error. But I still have the backup files, in the Media Cache, Auto-Save, etc. If I get the original video file, is it possible to access the previous edited version through the backup files? That is, can I get to the final previous edited version to make changes there, rather than have to re-edit the whole project?

I think I just answered my own question; I haven't gotten the original file yet but it appears that with that file, I can access the last save by opening the last Auto-Save.

Yes. If your original media files are still available on your hard drive.

They weren't but I got them again and sure enough, all my editing was preserved. Wish I'd thought about that before now -- it's a real lifesaver. Thanks...
