Problem importing audio from clip

Postby dberthia » Sun May 21, 2017 1:54 pm

So I have an MTS file captured by my camcorder. Never had a problem before, but now there's one particular file that, when imported into PE15, drops all audio about 15 seconds into the clip. If I play the file in an external player like VLC, there's audio throughout the entire clip. I've already tried deleting the preview files, the scratch disk, and then re-importing. At this point I'm at a complete loss as to what's going on. Any suggestions?

I've attached a view of the track on the timeline.

How did you import?
Did you wait for it to finish conforming?
Does it play if you render it?

Project Assets -> Right Click -> Get Media From -> Files and Folders
Been using this method forever. Works for all other files imported from same camera.

Did you wait for it to finish conforming?

Yes

Does it play if you render it?

No

Hi Dave !! Good to hear from the Minnesota chapter of Muvipix :)

Do you have anything you can use to convert the clip to MP4? I have seen this happen on very rare occasions and have not been able to figure out what causes it to not work properly. I use Adobe Media Encoder to convert and it usually works. Also, try starting a new project and add that clip first to see if that helps. Do you have any older versions available? I would try one of those as well, like version 10. If it works in an earlier version you can export in MP4 format from there.

Hey Chuck- What finally worked was manually deleting all my Media Cache files, creating a new project, and re-importing. Don't understand it, but at least I have a solution. Thanks!
