Project settings

Postby mikecox » Mon Nov 06, 2017 1:30 pm

When I opened the settings window I was a overwhelmed by the number and complexity of the options.

I went to Steve's Guide to v 14 but there is no Settings listed in the index and I didn't find a setting ref in the Contents. Where can I find an explanation of those Project settings?

I am trying to get the best results for editing and posting to Facebook.

I'm especially frustrated by the way my rendered slideshow projects preview; jerking, stopping and starting in PrE. Because of that issue, I am planning to try a trial version of PowerDirecter, to see if previews run the same way in that editor, but because of the learning curve, I keep putting it off.

Remember that your project settings are based on what you're using for source footage -- not what you hope to output.

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what is the format and resolution of your source video?

The entirety of Chapter 4 in the Muvipix.com Guide to Premiere Elements 14 deals with project settings. You'll also find a discussion of project settings in Part 1 of our free 8 part Basic Training tutorial series for Premiere Elements.

Thanks, it's all there  I tend to use your book more as a quick reference since my first reading, which is why I always jump to the index and missed it. Lame excuse I know #-o

My video files are MOV files from my Canon camera. But I also combine them with a lot of TIF images.

btw when I click the Titles tab it consistently opens an empty window. This morning I tried clicking the Titles tab before I opened a project and the window opened with all the titles I expect to see when I click it after I've opened a project. Any idea why this happens or how I can get the Titles to stay after I've opened a project?

Sorry, Mike. No idea why that's happening.
