Movie Menus

Postby StevenG » Tue Mar 17, 2015 12:47 pm

Steve, I was watching your Pre 13 Movie Menu in Lynda.com.
It is unclear to me, once the movie menu is completed, what is done with it. That is, do I somehow move it to the front on my timeline? Do I leave it as is and just click "done", and will it then appear when I burn the movie, etc.

Also, when I go to "browse" in order to select a still or clip to be dragged to the "add here" section of the menu, I do not get the option to browse Project Assets. I do get the option to browse my hard drive, where I have stored the stills and clips used in the video, but not project assets, as you indicate in the Lynda film.
Can you help me out with these two issues.
Thanks.
Steve

Yes, when you click Done, your movie menu is done. When you select Publish & Share/Disc your Movie Menu will automatically be added to as a menu to your DVD or BluRay disc.

When you select Browse in the Movie Menu Adjustments panel, a browse screen will open from which you can select a video and/or audio for your menu from your hard drive. You are correct: You can't drag media from the Project Assets panel. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks Steve,
That clarifies just about everything.
One question. If I am understanding you, I can't actually see how the Movie Menu looks as part of the movie, until I burn it to a disk?
And the only way to actually preview it is to open the actual Movie Menu, and play it independently?
Thanks.

Well, you can preview the Movie Menu by clicking the Preview button at the top of the Movie Menu Adjustment panel, of course.

When you preview the menu you can see the elements in place and test the links.
