Default preset?

Postby don731 » Sun Feb 22, 2015 4:14 pm

Is there any way in PE13 to change the default preset from 1080i to something else? I believe that the default preset is what's causing my final published videos to be jerky when there is fast motion. I know how to change them when creating a new project, but it would be nice to just change the default. I am on a Mac with Mavericks.

FYI I am importing .mts files from a Sony HD camera. I tried doing a short test project with only minor editing, and when I changed the preset to 1080p 60 there was no jerkiness on the published movie.

Otherwise I have added a LaCie Thunderbolt external HD which has helped immensely in getting those clips into PE13 and rendering to scratch files.

Cheers from frigid Chicagoland!

Don,

Premiere Elements uses the same preset as your previous project for the default. You can change the default preset to something else when you create a new project by clicking "change settings" in the new project dialog panel and selecting a new preset. The new preset will be the default until you change it again.

But, keep in mind also that if the first video clip you add to the timeline does match the project preset, Premiere Elements can override the project preset and change the settings to match the clip properties.

Yes, that's a typo. It should be "doesn't". Thanks.
