History Park

Postby sidd finch » Sat Sep 18, 2021 5:22 pm

Got a chance to go back and check out San Jose's History Park. History Park reveals Santa Clara Valley’s past through 32 original and reproduction homes, businesses, and landmarks, Complete with paved streets, running trolleys, and an old-fashioned ice cream shop, this 14-acre site offers the charm and ambiance of times gone by. We happen to go go through right as it opened and only a few folks walking around. Admission is free.

Ed I bet this would be a fun place you to take black & white photos.

Thank you Steve, I was almost gonna hit you up for a voice over but did not want to go to the well too many times.

This place is really a neat little slice of history especially since they have concentrated the buildings in what feels like is one small city.

That looks like it would be a great experience! Beautiful video of some fascinating material. Put me in mind of Greenfield Village, to some degree. The ending was a little abrupt. Just when I wasn't quite on board the train left the station. :-D
But still, a nice job and I enjoyed it. :TU:

Glad you like it Dave. It is very much like the Greenfield Village but on a much smaller scale.

The ending was a little abrupt

Agreed, SO I added a directors cut as I was walking out of the park.

Didn't need to do that on my account. It was just my observation. But I do like the change. :TU:

After I watched the video again it did feel a bit abrupt. SO change was mafe.

The different light does provide some interesting aspects to shoot. One of the things I really like is that is is kind of isolated from a modern backdrop so you get a sense you are back in time with not a lot of modern amenities around. The weekend I was there they were having a 1940's themed weekend so folks were setting up a bunch of WWII memorabilia including military vehicles.
