Earthworms

Postby sidd finch » Sun Feb 19, 2017 10:33 pm

Will all the constant rain our Earthworm population has been living close to the surface these days. I used a macro lens with a new lighting system and it seemed to work well. You can see the blood pump in the Earthworm which is pretty cool.

As always comments are welcome.

Thanks Steve and yes I was thinking there would be interested fishermen viewing...

I found a cheap LED light for the camera that works out really well that I was testing out. A lot of times the bugs are in shady spots so I am hoping the light helps get a better picture. I might need to revisit the ant colony.....

This gave me flashbacks to days of dissecting worms in school. Put me in mind of your garden snail vid. Some things just don't get any prettier up close. :-D :TU:
BTW, good choice of music, too!

OMG, I had never seen blood flowing in a worm before. Sidd is probably the best earthworm video photographer ever. Sidd, you should send this to the National Geographic.

You've outdone yourself this time, Siddster! Pulsating pink worm oozing through gray-green sludge with a mole cricket escaping silently in the background!!! With FABulous lighting! YES!!! Go for the ants! (Plus 2 for the music!)

Oooey Gooey was a worm.

And a fine little worm was he.

As he crawled along the railroad track,

The train he did not see.

(childrens' chorus)

OOOOEY - GOOOOEY!!!

Love this stuff!

Thanks Paz. I did not even see the mole cricket until I looked at the footage. I am really happy with the light it makes the macro viewing much clearer. Takes a bit more color correction of the footage but overall I am happy. Glad you liked the music it is from a band called Opiuo which makes a lot of this weird music but I think it fit too.

Paz you are a poet?

Oh Wiggly, squiggly, squirming worm,
Most brilliant of creatures under terra-firm,
Builder of tunnels exquisitely round
Creator of dirt so deliciously ground
Engineer-builder without college degree
You eat up your work--
and do it for free.
