Flowers at Sunset

Postby sidd finch » Mon Aug 22, 2016 10:40 am

One of my favorite things to record are the different colors of flowers, especially roses. For this video I tried to capture the various roses in 4K at sunset to see how they would come out. I then output to 1080p. Music is from Vision: The Music of Hildegard von Bingen. Not sure if it defaults or not but you have to select 1080p by clicking on the HD on the screen.

Excellent as always Sidd :TU:

The music was very interesting, reminded me somewhat of the British band Renaissance for some reason. you might like this one, kind of goes with your flower theme :)

Thanks Steve and Chuck.

For the shots I used a handheld brushless gimbal and an extension pole and tried to walk slowly. I also tried to shoot into the sun to get that light effect. I am guessing that the 4K would look a lot better in a more sunny environment but the video seemed pretty clear to me.

When shooting in 4K I need to use a backpac battery as the internal battery is drained quickly.

Wow Sidd. That is some back garden that you have there (but I did notice that your lawn needs attention in some places).

Just a few flowers here and there... lol

We are in a drought so keeping the lawn a bit long helps on the health of the grass and the water bill.

I felt like I was a bee flying among the flowers. I kept expecting to land on one of them. It was great, Sidd! :TU:

Beautiful flowers and in the lighting you really showed them off very well! I loved the opening with the light circles moving through the scene.

VERY NICE!

Thank you for the nice words.

I especially enjoying seeing so many groups of different colors that flowers are a lot of fun to try and capture on video. I try to imagine what the flowers look like from a butterfly's perspective.
