Re: distortion correction applicationYep, the Premiere Pro Lens Distortion Effect can correct for that. In fact, Premiere Pro CC 2014 introduced some built-in presets specifically for GoPro corrections. Essentially, those presets add the Lens Distortion Effect and set the appropriate curvature property. It's usually easy enough to adjust the curvature property by eye though.
For stills, Photoshop, ACR, and Lightroom all have Lens Distortion correction.
Re: distortion correction applicationThe "GoPro Studio" application from their website also has built in fisheye correction. Also does things like convert to friendlier formats and combine time lapse into video.
