GoPro just purchased a company called Kolor. They make 360 software. Check out the cool video below. This only works with the Chrome browser

At first when I watched in IE I thought it looked kind of goofy and weird especially with the dolphins swimming. But then when I watched in chrome I realized that you can rotate the camera view as the video is playing (arrows in upper left hand corner of video box) and it became really cool. I rotated and watched the front of the boat. I rotated and watched the dolphins swim. This is a pretty impressive piece of software.

My only thought is that you really need to make sure you stabilize the footage so you can enjoy the view.

Wow, that is pretty cool! I watched it first on my iPad and it did not work the way it is supposed to, even with the Chrome browser. I did not really get what it is all about. But now watching it on my computer made it a completely different story.
I wonder if GoPro will make this as a software update available or if that will be included with the GoPro 5?

Very cool Sidd! Watching on my phone I could touch to rotate around.

I really like that rotate function a lot. It will be interesting to see some real world examples of video. Kodak has a 360 camera so I wonder how they compare to each other.

I wonder what this would look like in 4K. That might be pretty awesome.

I have been looking but I do not see any specs on resolution. Is the 360 picture just as good as HD?

The Pixpro sp360 can record at 1080p 30fps or 720p 60fps.

If you were talking about Kolor, that's a function of the stitching software, Autopano, which supports HD and 4K export.

I have been curious as to what the mechanics of the 360 video experience entailed. I incorrectly assumed that the 360 Kolor video's were created with just one camera. ahhh a picture is worth a thousand words.... :) but 6 cameras..... to rich for my blood. :ha:
