With the drought so bad I have been having to fill up the hummingbird feeder every two weeks. Originally we only got visits from the hummingbirds with green heads. Then I noticed that at dusk there would be 6 -7 hummingbirds and they were all flying around and fighting each other. Now I only see the "Anna's Hummingbirds" (maroon head) at the feeder. The Anna's must have won the battle. But I still see a few Green's which might be the female Anna's hummingbird.

And did I capture this on video....not even close the battles were over befor I could even turn the camera on.

We have 4 different kinds in our area: Anna's, Allen's, Costa's and Rufous Hummingbird. Anna's are to most common ones, I'm no bird expert, but I can distinguish at least 2 different kinds. They also vary in size, some are really tiny and skinny, others are really fat and round and much bigger.
Today I had set up the camera at the Fuchsia, but shortly after my sprinklers came on and everybody decided to take a bath. Until I had moved the camera they were done. :pull:

Mr Finch, Salute! As others here have already mentioned, may I also say that you have a delightful to watch video. Decent up close footage and I kept watching that drop of water and the ants drinking from it. Osmosis Rules!

thanks TheOZer. Trying to capture small things on video is always a fun challenge. Thes little cameras make the task a whole lot easier.

I was out walking and saw a bird bringing some food to a nest inside a tree..... Looks like I have a new challenge to capture a newborn bird...Game on.
