DIY Ariel Camera Pole

Postby sidd finch » Tue Mar 10, 2015 11:11 am

I discovered a relatively inexpensive method to get my GoPro up on an aerial mast to capture sports or sunsets etc.

1. 11 ft. Pole Light Bulb Changer Kit with Attachments $21.00 USD

2. GeckoGear High-Strength ABS Pole Adapter with ACME threads for all GoPro Hero cases. $15.00 USD

The mount has the correct thread to attach to any ACME thread pole.

I had an old work light stand that worked perfectly to mount the pole to.

This gives me about 12 feel of height to get some nice overhead sports shots, or gets the camera hight enought to get a good view of the sky for time lapse. I added a 2 lbs weight to the base so that the mast would not be as top heavy and blow over in the wind.

Great ideas Sidd! I have a painter's extension that I attach the vacuum or dusters to reach high places. Gives me an idea to attach my GoPro.
