Let it Rain

Postby sidd finch » Sat Dec 06, 2014 10:46 am

Well finally we have started getting some rain...finally. Some more fun at 120 fps. This is a companion piece to my Paper Boat short.

Calming piece Sidd and music fit perfect. Did you blur the background? If so, maybe feather the matte?

Thank you. Truth be told I used a Gaussian blur with a track matt for the effect. For some reason it makes the water look more intense. To me it also looks like bombs are being dropped on a lake.

Now if I could only entice a hummingbird to drink from the water as I shoot..... ahhh dreams.

So glad to hear the west coast is getting some rain. I'd send you some of ours if I could.

I'll second the suggestion that blurring the transition would improve your video. I LOVE IT that 120 is fast enough to capture the crown formations of the rain drops hitting!

Thank you Steve,

It was raining buckets when I placed the camera so I was not sure what I would get. But I think 120 fps is fast enough to catch the action.

Another excellent video Sid! Now I'm wondering where I can find a rain puddle...

Ron, not on the payroll but I would sure be happy to be invited to join. I will have to tell my story of my very slight brush with GoPro infamy.... The term is called close but no cigar... :)
