I think regardless of your brand of sport-cam you use it is cool to see the advancement in the form of 4K resolution. I think that this will have a trickle down effect that will just make the sport-cam niche better regardless of who in leading the pack.

GoPro Hero4: system-on-chip manufacturer Ambarella. The company, which has exclusively provided SOCs for GoPro, has just released details on its latest system on chip, the A9.

The A9 supports video recording and a wide range and resolutions and frame rates. The A9 supports:

1) 4K Ultra HD video recording at 30 fps using H.264 video codec.
2) 1080p Full HD video recording at 120 fps.
3) 720p HD video recording at 240 fps.

The 1 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 features multi-exposure HDR, WDR tone mapping, Electronic Image Stabilisation, NEON and FPU extensions, and Wi-Fi connections, among other things.
