Weapons Training (aka Target Shooting)

Postby Ron Hunter » Mon Nov 18, 2013 6:57 pm

OK, here is a short (<3min) video I made of a target shooting "battle" between me and my 13yo son Josh. We are target shooting a "dueling tree" with 22LR rifles and pistols, set to a comical military theme. A GoPro HDHero 2 and Canon HF R400 camcorders were used to record footage; both cams were tripod mounted. External lav mic used with HF R400. Footage edited with Premiere Elements 12. Soundtrack is "Commando Team Action" by Gregoire Lourme, downloaded from Jamendo.com.

We swapped between two rifles and two pistols to create four "exercises" in our "weapons training". (We actually shot for an hour but I only used the best clips.) There were quite a few malfunctions (jams) with the weapons, but that comes with the territory with 22cal. Truth be told I think my son shot better than me that day, but thanks to the power of editing I evened the odds. :-D

I found out after upload that I messed up on "exercise" numbering...oh well. Let me know what you think!

Nice job Ron! The font worked well. Just think...with creative editing on future competitions you could win every time. :)

The titles were clever :) The split screen was a perfect idea for this. Ron, you are on a roll with the editing projects! Your son will have a treasure of memories with video.
