BIRDMEN: The Original Dream of Flight

Postby sidd finch » Thu Aug 22, 2013 11:51 am

On my daily quest to become a professional channel surfer I came across the coolest program last night. Where else can you mix, GoPro’s, and people flying from outrageously sheer cliffs in a bird suit. I was amazed. Below is the trailer for the show.

It really is an incredible sport, and the photography is awesome. But it's been called a "controlled crash," which is basically what it really is. Just a week or two ago I read about the British stuntman dying while doing this. I think he caught the edge of a cliff if I recall. Definitely out of my league.

I guess I am more of your stand on the ground and see if we can get a camera to take my place kind of person....

I agree on the controlled crash aspect. They did a couple of flyby's and they were going really fast. They said up to 100 miles per hour. But really cool to watch.

I must have a bit of Vertigo; made me nervous just watching the trailer, especially when the stones crumbled and fell from the sheer..my back is against the wall.
