How Self created Video Menu appears in Pre 12

Postby robbie410 » Fri Apr 25, 2014 7:28 am

Having created self designed Video Menu, and saved, it appears in the Video Menu Themes in Pre 12. Only difference, from other Menus in Themes, is that it has no picture, just a clear box, with the name of the Video Menu created.
There are no .png files in the new folder where the psd files have been saved. Is it something to do with this that no picture appears in the Menu Themes, or how should I proceed to correct this.
The menu created still works OK but as you build up more self created Video Menu's it would be nice to see how they look for easy identification.

This is another trick I show you in the Photoshop Elements/Premiere Elements 12 book, Robbie! ;)

In many cases, the program will self-generate the thumbnails for you. But, if not, you can easily create your own.

Just open your Main Menu page in Photoshop Elements and then go to File/Save for Web. In the Save for Web box, selecty the PNG option and set the width to 160px and let the height autofill. Save this thumbnail into the folder with your other Movie Menu files, naming it en_US_[TemplateName]_pal_s_prv_mm.png

Naturally, if you're producing thumbnails a 16:9 menu, change the "s" to a "w" -- or an "hd" for high-def.

Repeat this process for your Scene Menu, naming it "sm" rather than "mm."

Thank you Steve, will try that.
It sounds, in fact certain, that I need to visit the Basic Training Tutorials 1 to. 8 for Photoshop.
Will settle down tonight, with headphones because my wife is getting a little upset how much time I am spending on Muvipix, and start to LEARN again.
Speak soon

Steve all complete, up and running as well as showing pictures in themes.
Now for attaching some sound. I will first copy a sound file from existing Video Menu and try and change the sound clip. Otherwise I will start reading again page 172/173 "The Muvipix Guide toPhotoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 11" although I am using Pre 12 for working, to complete that aspect. Is there a specific length of clip to attach? Lastly, in due course, an video clip, again is there a specific length of video clip to attach.

Premiere Elements Movie Menu clips (video and audio) are limited to 30 seconds. So know that going in.

Also, you'll ideally want to keep your video and audio backgrounds the same length -- so that one doesn't run out before the other is finished playing.
