Problem with Video Importer and USB Flash Drive

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 11.

Problem with Video Importer and USB Flash Drive

Postby MP#$864zz » Tue Oct 25, 2016 2:04 am

Hi

I D L a DVD Menu on this site to a USB Flash Drive.

When I tried to Import the file, which was a PS PDF, from the Flash drive.

Program told me to use the Video Importer.

I clicked the Video Importer the Still option.

It would only Show the the drive Name and would not let me see any of the Individual files on the drive ? ? ?

It tried to Import Every File on the Flash Drive over 500 files until I canceled the Import.

I looked at the Flash drive outside of the Program and the File Structure was fine.

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks Fred

I don't know how or why you put a DVD on a flash drive, but that may not work.

Instead, put the DVD in your computer's disc drive and use Add Media/From DVD Camera or Computer Drive to open the Video Importer and interface with the disc drive. The Video Importer will rip the files from the disc to your computer.

Unless of course you're trying to get video off a commercial DVD. Most commercial DVDs had software to keep you from copying their files.

If I'm reading it right, Steve, MP#$864zz wants to take the DVD menu that was downloaded from Muvipix and add it to the choice of menus in Premiere Elements.

This is an old tutorial. Will it work for version 11?

I'm not seeing that at all, Peru.

But if that is what MP is trying to do, instructions for installing Muvipix menu templates into Premiere Elements 11 are found in a sticky at the top of the forum.

Hopefully MP will return to clarify.

Hi Peru

Thanks for the Reply.

You Are Correct I only wanted to add the DVD Menu Blank to My Video .

I viewed the Tut on adding Menus.

I thought that a simpler way would just be to Copy it to Project assets.

What I did not understand was why the Video Importer app would not read the

File Directory on My Flash Drive.

I thought I picked the Wrong Add Media Selection.

The DVD menu was a PS PSD file not PDF Sorry for the Error.

Thanks for your Help Fred

Hi Steve

Sorry abut the confusion about my post.

I have a problem with My sign in.

I First Signed up as MP#$864zz.

I then Signed up as subscriber.

When I signed up it used my E-Mail address as my Log in Name.

I did not want my log in name to be my E-Mail address.

What is the best way to straighten this Problem out ? ?

Thanks Fred
