Specific to Premiere Elements Version 11.

Can anyone tell me what CSS protection is and why would a dvd that was burned in Prel v11 have that function enabled? I created a slideshow in Elements v11 and when finished I chose the .wmv output option. Prel opened and brought up the menu to burn the disc. I chose Widescreen, NTSC and 1 copy. I couldn't see any reference to css or anything else. The burn completed successfully and the dvd plays on my laptop through Windows media player. I put the dvd into my TV's dvd player and that's when I got the message that "CSS was enabled". I've created Elements slideshows to tv capable dvd's before using V9 without issue and have just upgraded to V11. Can anyone help me get rid of this blocker? I read a somewhat confusing help file suggestion but it seemed to be concerned with a product called Encore.
Thanks in anticipation

There's certainly no CSS or copy protection put on any DVDs I've burned from Premiere Elements. So I'm not sure what's going on.
BTW, if you create your slideshow in the Organizer, select the option to Send to Premiere Elements rather than outputting it as a WMV. You'll get a better looking DVD and faster transcoding from Premiere Elements to disc. (Assuming you've resized your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels, as we recommend, before you create the slideshow.)

Thanks Steve. I burned another copy in v9 last night so I'll see how that turns out. If not then I'll try what you suggest.

Just as a point of information, I re-burned the slideshow in V9 and it worked first time. I'll try and find out what is going on with this CSS issue, and I'll post any findings. Thanks for the prompt reply Steve, Ian

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets and has to do with web page design, not sure what that would have to do with DVD burning or viewing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cascading_Style_Sheets

Encore is the Adobe professional DVD authoring program that the DVD burning in Premiere Elements was taken from. I'm sure there are lingering parts of Encore in the Premiere Elements products. Here is the Encore help page about CSS, not sure if this is linked to the issue you are having in Premiere Elements or not ... http://helpx.adobe.com/encore/using/add ... s-dvd.html

Thanks Chuck. I did read about a connection to Encore but wasn't sure why it would appear in v11. I removed V11 and reinstalled it. I had problems with that as well, I got messages saying Shared technologies failed to load. However, when i look at my desktop the Elements icon is there and Elements loads ok. I'm going to try the dvd burning process again and see what happens.
Thanks again
