Upgrade from PreEL10 to V11 or V12?

Postby Ron Hunter » Sun Oct 06, 2013 7:50 pm

I'm currently using PreEL10 and PsEL10. My new camcorder supports 60p but PreEL10 doesn't. I know that PreEL12 was just released but I can still get a copy of V11 from Amazon. Should I get V11, or V12?

I like to use Smartsound in some projects and I understand that Smartsound has been removed from V11. Anything else to consider?

Well, both versions are very good. And both handle 1080p60 very well.

On the left side of this page, if you click the Details link, you can see a list of the new features in version 12. If you none of them are particularly compelling to you, you can probably save a few bucks and pick up version 11.

Well, now that I've looked at the list, it appears I may wish to use PRE12 for edting those MP4s.

But first, I need to ask you: I like PSE11 a lot; does PSE 12 take away any of PSE11's Guided Edit or other features?

If it does, then I would prefer to stick with the PRE/PSE11 bundle rather than to move to PRE/PSE12.

Thank you.

Again, you can find a list of the new features in version 12 of Photoshop Elements on the page I linked you to above.

It's by no means removed features (except one). And it's added a couple of nice Guided Edits.

The one inexplicable feature that Photoshop Elements 12 does omit is, ironically, the one I just released a tutorial on -- the Photoshop Elements Grab Frame feature.

But, other than that, it's fully loaded.
