I may have been a little vague with my idea. In a nutshell, use a photo with a reflection & transparent background made in PSE and keyframe that psd file in PrEl.

Since PSE has a guided edit thought that would be an idea for the PS Elements new users to create the file.

Dear Steve,
When do you sleep? To do all you do must take 25 hours every day! Although I'm not (at oresent) planning on moving up to PE 11, it's good to know I have such knowledgeable back-up when I do!
Congratulations!
Bill

Dear Steve,

congratulations, your PE11 book seems to be fantastic, and most of all one of the only written books on the subject !
Do you intend to publish it in french ?
My father-in-law is an old man who started movie editing at the age of 80, and recently moved to premiere elements 10, but he could buy PE11 too now..
His learning habits, as for many older people, rely on the presence of a real printed book rather than video tutorials,
and he was greatly disappointed to find no books at all on premiere elements 10 written or translated in French! None, nada !
There seems to be a martketing niche for such a product...
I know some good (human) translators from english to french if you need one...
Sincerely,

Jean-Philippe

Thank you for your kind words, Jean-Philippe. And welcome to Muvipix!

Unfortunately, we are a small publisher and do not have the facilities to publish the book in French. I'm sorry.

So sad!

Perhaps I should tell my father in law to learn English ?
However, go on this way, and if ever you want to export your knowledge to France, I am ready to help...
Sincerely,

Jean-Philippe

Wow!! Found both "The Muvipix.com Guide to Adobe Premiere Elements 11" AND "The Muvipix. com Guide to DVD Architect Studio 5.0" under the tree this morning.

Looks like it's gonna be a great 2013 for me!

I just bought the Photo Premiere Elements 11 bundle. Which Muvipix book(s) do you recommend? On Amazon, I see the colour Premiere Elements is $44.95 but the combo (Premiere and Photo) is only $29.95. What am I missing?
Thx,
Karen

The combo book, because of its size, can only be published in black & white. (There's also a cheaper black & white version of the Premiere Elements book, if you're interested.)

The Photo Elements/Premiere Elements bundle book is great if you have no Photoshop experience. It also shows you some advanced tricks for getting Photo Elements and Premiere Elements to interface. And the combined Photo Elements/Premiere Elements book does contain the Premiere Elements book in its entirety!

Does that help at all?

Yes, it does! As long as it has everything the Premiere book alone has, I'll get the combo and sacrifice the pretty colour for the knowledge!

First post, Steve said:

The Muvipix.com Guide to Premiere Elements 11 is available now in both a color and black & white version.

Steve,

Is your book available in a format I could read on my computer? My old eyes, gazillions of floaters included which seem to increase with every migraine, sure would appreciate being able to view a larger font and image size.

thanks,

Paz

I'm sorry, Paz. But the book is currently only available in print form.

I've considered looking into releasing it in Kindle format though. Would that help?

I don't have a Kindle, don't really want to buy one or have to keep it with me all the time. I often take my laptop and work outdoors, so I'd prefer to be able to have your book on my computer, so if you can do that, YES, I'll buy it! :exc:

I'm not sure if there is a special file type that is Kindle only. I think any .pdf can be read either on a Kindle or a regular computer and can be called an "EBook". (And I guess I need to know, since I hope to create ebooks!, lol!)

Searchable for a specific word would be nice! In addition to being able to easily adjust font size. I currently read your book with a magnifying glass. You can only get part of a sentence at the time that way. <grin>

Here is a video where a guy shows how to create ebooks that can have clickable links contained in them. He says the program "Open Office" is one he has found that can do that. (It's FREE - and Bob uses and recommends Open Office:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11828&p=100923&hilit=+openoffice#p100923

I downloaded it earlier today from the link Chuck posted and tried it out. Yes, I was able to create clickable links within the .pdf document when I exported the document to a file on my hard drive, then opened it, according to the YouTube instructions.

So it looks like if you already have your book in a Word type of program, you ought to be able to import it into OpenOffice and pretty easily create a .pdf file. Of course, formatting might get messed up with images.

I'm not sure if Microsoft's Word can create a .pdf or not. I know at one time my daughter in law purchased a program so she could create .pdf s.

I also looked up the second program the YouTube video suggested but could not find it.
