I would like to receive your suggestion on how to download a video from YouTube. I have received authorization from the author to do so. The problem is that I have no clue how to download the video. Preferably I would like to download it in mp4 format so I can import it to my Premiere Pro project.
I have read some suggestions in the internet but would rather have you suggest the best method. Thanks.

Exactly what I would have recommended!
There are a number of YouTube downloaders available for FireFox on the Mozilla site. I found a nice one that will save the file as an FLV or an MP4 or will save the audio/music only as an MP3.

Mind if I ask which one you're using, Steve? There's been a few times when all I wanted was the music. The one I'm currently using is just OK. I'm looking at the Mozilla site and there's zillions of YouTube downloaders I just hate having to make decisions

Yep, that looks like the one!
I've been so happy with the results, I even donated to the guy who created it.

Well that's certainly a nice testimonial. Thanks for the confirmation, Steve.

Just installed but doesn't work for me (FireFox 3.6.12) - no buttons added to the pages at all. Am I supposed to use a key combination to activate it ?

You may need to restart FireFox. And it only works on YouTube.
But you should see a Download button right under the video on YouTube once you install it.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro

Sorted - it conflicts with another Add-On ( TubeStop) that disables the autoplay on YouTube videos. This means that you can open multiple YouTube videos in tabs in the background without them all starting to play at once.

My Easy Youtube down loader isn't working. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10137/A person I work with says that theirs isn't working also. We both have the latest Mozilla update. 3.6.13 Also when I have gotten a Mozilla update recently it changed all my security settings. I had to do Tools>Options>Security and uncheck boxes which I never had checked. Anybody else having problems with the Youtube downloader?
Thanks Richard

It seems that it was updated on Dec. 10. I downloaded and everything is working again.
Thanks Richard
