Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 splitting

Postby orrickster » Fri Oct 08, 2010 7:12 pm

When you import video the audio comes with it. In the timeline mode they're lined up with the video on top and sound right below it. Anybody know of a way to delete the video or the audio separately? I just wanted the audio of a clip and the video just seems to be in the way. And for most videos I'm working with, I don't want the audio at all, so I was just wondering if there was a way I could separate the audio and video and delete one. The manual is not much help! Thanks!!

Hi Orrickster, Welcome to Muvipix :wcm:
In Premiere Elements you only have to right click on the clip and select Delete Audio or Delete Video.
I wonder if it is that easy in Magix? Something to check until the Magix folks stop by to answer your question.

There is an ungroup icon (looks like a broken chain) above the timeline to the right. Select your clip, ungroup it and delete the audio or video.

I remember back in the good old days of DOS (maybe it still exists) there was a spreadsheet program called Quatro Pro. It had a menu selection that let the program emulate Lotus 123. Wouldn't that be a neat thing for a program like Magix to have. Wow, one click and it has a Premiere Elements front end. :)

Quattro Pro still exists. Corel owns it now and it's part of their WordPerfect Office suite.
