1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Thank you RJ appreciated. I do yave quite a few tapes to go through so this might be something that would be a workable solution.for my old SD tapes. But it looks like it does not support any HD DV Tape so Lets hope there is a solution for that.
So this blurb caused me to think..... I remember when I purchased the Sony HC-1 and one of the tag lines was that with this model being HDV you could Future Proof your videos.... Re: Tape-Based Capture: In AVI vs. MP4?A Firewire card is around $10, a used Canopus ADVC can be had on eBay for around $100, that's only $110 and the minor hassle of installing the card. You can still get computers today with Firewire already installed. It hasn't become impossible yet.
