Here's an example (not a great example though). This was taken with a 4mb digital camera years ago. The image on the left is the original unretouched image. The image on the right is using Topaz Adjust with one of the built-in presets -- no tweaking was done. before_after.jpg That brought out the colors and enhanced some detail but also bought out the noise in the image. I used Topaz DeNoise to clean it up. The image on the left is the before and the one on the right is the after. Note: DeNoise looks at the image and comes up with a default setting for that image. You can tweak the settings with the controls if you wish. This was the default noise suppression that DeNoise came up with for this image. (Click on the image to get the larger view) noise.jpg

If anyone is still standing on the fence wondering whether to make the plunge, I just came across a great discount offer valid only this weekend -- $60 off the photoshop bundle price. See http://www.scottkelby.com/blog/2009/archives/7467 for details. And, remember, you can still use the discount coupon code and buy it through this link and help out Muvipix at the same time: Topaz Labs

Topaz Labs has just come out with a new plugin called InFocus. As the name suggests, this plugin can decrease blur in a photo caused by out of focus or motion blurring. For more details, see: http://www.topazlabs.com/infocus/. There is an intrductory coupon code that will allow you to purchase the plugin for $29.99 USD. The regular price will be $69.99 USD. The offer ends December 3, 2010.

Topaz Labs is one of our affiliates, just got this from them last week; I am writing to tell you about the new Topaz InFocus plug-in, which has just been added to the Topaz lineup. InFocus is a new sharpening solution designed to restore image clarity, recover lost detail and refine with micro-contrast detail enhancement.
We will also be offering a limited-time introductory discount on the new InFocus that you are welcome to post and give out. The coupon code for this $40.00 discount is: supersharp. It is valid until December 3, 2010. While InFocus is available now, the official release is scheduled for Monday, November 22, 2010.
I have attached the Information PDF and it includes lots of examples. They have also announce the upcoming release of ReMask 3, tentatively scheduled for Mid-December, so be watching for that

Thanks Bob. This looks like a really useful plug-in. The examples look like this plug-in does an awesome job. It could save many photos.
I am downloading the trial to give it a whirl. If it does what it says, $29.99 is a real bargain.

Johnny, looking forward to your feedback. I downloaded the trial. Searched my photos directory briefly (I use Bridge) to try to find an out of focus pic. My test on that particular pic was inconclusive so I'll be trying it again today on a different pic(s).

I'm finding this makes a great sharpening plugin. Try it on some photos that aren't necessarily blurred, but could be a little soft. It pulls out a lot of detail.

Agree. Does a good job. Probably worth the discounted price for that alone. Still trying it on out of focus pics. If I have any notable sucesses I'll post some before and afters views.

I tried it on a few out-of-focus photos. I have not had any success. Maybe my expectations are set too high, or maybe I just don't know what I am doing.
