what does 1000 mean to you

Talk about anything here.

what does 1000 mean to you

Postby sidd finch » Tue May 20, 2008 4:39 pm

Hey I was just wondering……….

I see that Muvipix just recently added their 1000 member and there was no hub-bub no congratulations no smiley faces…nada zilch….. To me 1000 members seems like a pretty cool feat to accomplish. Then I thought there must be some conspiracy that is forcing the suppression of our 1000th member. Maybe the member is just a Google-bot. Maybe there is a hidden forum that only moderators can get into and they already had the celebration. Maybe Chuck’s recent illness was just in fact a secret code to let the “real members” know what is going on. Maybe it was a conspiracy to influence the recent Muvipix contest. Did you notice there was no drama this year….coincidence….I think not. I have a feeling this is going to end up like Roswell....maybe...........

…….Ooops gotta go it is time to take my medicine…….. again

No drama?? Didn't you see the weddings, birthday celebrations, car explosions, blatent marketing campaigns, not to mention the takeoffs and landings of fierce looking aircraft :-D. And what about the apple search and rescue mission? Who could ask for more drama than that?

Maybe I need some medication too... :-8

P.S. On the bottom of the forum main page under Statistics, I see " Total members 839."

I saw the 1000 members at the bottom of the gallery page.
I also saw the 839 members at the bottom of the forum page.

Maybe it is wild monkeys messing with us... image136

Ron does a great job of running the whole web site: the forum, gallery, members area, services, products, resources, etc. In addition he gives us little surprises on occasion... new smileys, improved gallery, announcements when we will be having a planned down time... the list goes on and on. Hats off to Ron!

I don't know why the difference between the gallery and the forum numbers, but we have been going by what the forum number say.
At the moment 839. When we hit 1000 I will be sure to let everyone know :)

Ahem... I just stepped out of the dark and shadowy smoke-filled room where us Moderators secretly plot the takeover of Hollywood (oops, I've said too much!) but I can assure you that there is absolutely no connection between Chuck's illness, the member-number discrepancy, wild monkeys, fierce aircraft, and the Roswell "weather balloon". :alien:

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!

As president of the Muvipix Moderator Fan Club (MMFC), I can say that I have not now, and never did take part in a conspiracy. And I am keeping my Premiere Pro, thank you very much.

Could the discrepancy of numbers be due to users uploading gallery files, but do no post in the forum?

As for the moderators' plot...since so many TV shows have jumped the shark, Muvipix has been asked to send creative writers such as Sidd & Jack to Hollywood

Can I just telecommute? I hear traffic on the 405 is a killer...

Besides, I'd hate to have to slap Kato Kaelin upside the head for putting too much mocha in my latte!

On a more serious note, Fonzie's shark-jumping stunt was one of the greatest moments in television history. It unburdened TV show writers from having to come up with new and original ideas; now when a show gets past its prime, they just throw in an alien encounter or a demonic posession, or maybe have an entire season that turns out to be a dream sequence. Hey, who really needs writers after all when you have so many dain-bramaged network execs with such brilliant reality-show ideas?

Has anyone seen "Bling Out My Golf Cart" hosted by Arnold Palmer and Dr. Dre? I wouldn't have thought they'd get along so well...

Or how about "16 Stereotypes Living In a Beach House" hosted by Rider Strong?

Although I think this year's hit has definitely got to be "Who Wants To Have Kip Winger's Baby?" hosted by Janet Gardner!

I thought the number discrepancy from the gallery and the forum was a part of the conspiracy. Where is Oliver Stone when you need him. Maybe when Jack and I get to Hollywood we can put some secret messages in our blockbuster film about backwards Muvipix references.
