Agreed, The mic does not require an app to run and it is just plug and play. Comes with a battery charger and is only about $80 USD.

A good deal if it's got a decent range and sounds as good as it appears to.

At $80 it almost sounds too good to be true. This would be a really nice way to do voiceovers for personal videos. I wonder if you could just use it to make an audio file to use separately. And how you would get the audio file off of the iPhone to work with it. I suppose you could record a video and then just strip the audio from it.

It should be fine. It's essentially an external wireless lavalier microphone and should work with any phone app that uses the phone's microphone.
