The 10 Commandments of Vlogging

Postby sidd finch » Thu Jun 09, 2022 9:53 am

Humorous tongue in cheek video about the The 10 Vlogging Commandments. Language can be a bit saucy so heads up.

Gotta agree with him!

Although I'd propose 11th and 12th commandments:

Commandment 11 - Keep it brief! 9 minutes is too long for a video about 10 Don'ts!

Commandment 12 - Remember that no one will be impressed with you because you swear indiscriminately. Save the F-bombs for events worthy of it.

Could not agree more. Sometimes I see a video that I want to share on Muvipix but there is a lot of salty language. My only exception is watching Mafia movies where this is almost a prerequisite :whew:

also honorable mention as an asterisk.... don't be afraid to tell a story.

Read the replies and not bothered to watch the video.
Concur with Commandment 12.

Yeah, I agree with what he said. But methinks he has an overinflated opinion of how clever he is; if he was that clever he'd be able to fill 9 minutes without using the language. People with a vocabulary can communicate without it. Not that I'm holding myself up as above it, but a judicious application is much more effective than just injecting it indiscriminately. Save it for the right moment.

Hilarious! :hyst: He did mention "Mom" and "Steve". :hyst:

I do agree with his points. The not looking at the camera is very annoying. What also annoys me is wanting to know a how to of a camera or PS and having to sit thru 15 minutes of nonsense when it could have been done in less than 5 min.

Personally, I also have an issue with vlogs or videos or self-portraits shot in the driver's seats of cars. I don't know why it's even a thing. I guess because it allows the vlogger to check his/her look in the rear-view mirror before they shoot. But is there any less interesting background than the inside of a car?

Yep! I watched a 7 or 8 minute how to video and he went thru the description. When it came time to actually tell you the how to he ended the video with something like go to my website and pay $$ to see how. There was a lot of hate in the comments. So now I quickly scan the comment section before investing in watching the free YT videos.
