I bought this (1TB) for my wife last year. She is into genealogy and accumulates a massive amount of image and PDF files. She also wanted something portable to take to the Mormon genealogy center (we're not Mormon, but apparently they are a great genealogy resource). No issues with the drive, although it does get a little hot if in use for a while. Just don't let it sit on a nice wood table without something under it when using it for extended periods.

They do get a little warm I try to have mine on edge so the least amount of surface area in touching something. Good tip about wood surface.

For me the small form factor, the really fast speed make it a great choice to consider.
