What has happened to my precious new projects in DaVinci?

Postby Matthew Max » Mon Feb 21, 2022 1:14 pm

Everything was just fine. Life was good. I was dropping AVHDC files into my DaVinci video editor on the recommendations of fellow muvipix members. But yesterday I suddenly hit a brick wall. My GoPro files drop in fine, but my Sony camcorder AVHDC files are showing up squarish AND with six full tracks of audio. I can't see anything in project settings that looks fishy. I uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing has changed.

I'm very experienced with video. I make thousands of videos for business. But I can't figure this out. As usual, I cry on muvipix's shoulders.

My computer is powerful and has all the good stuff. What in the world has changed? Two days ago all was well.

Are you able to change the timeline resolution in the Master Project settings?

Yes. And?
I wouldn't be surprised if the problem is intentional, meant to coax me into buying the full version. My intention was to buy it and i forgot to do that.

Pretty sure that is not the case as it would not make a sustainable business model, or even be practical.

If you can change the project setting try creating a 16 x 9 project with just the Sony clips to test if keeps happening. Trouble shooting is always a challenge. You might also do a search on your camera and see if there are any known issues with DaVinci.

Happens all the time in trial versions.
I'm going to give your idea a whirl. If thatv doesn't work, I'll open a file and replace all the media with new media. This i have done repeatedly for other reasons for one client, with no issues.

If you are able to post a screen shot of the Sony clip's properties that might help to trouble shoot the issue.
