Post Your Holiday Videos

Postby ed » Wed Dec 22, 2021 10:03 am

I logged into Vimeo for the first time in years, kind of sad to see people and pets that I've lost over the years. Here's a holiday video I made in 2010, I also found a 'classic' from 2006 I'll post later.

Chuck, are you doing your Christmas lights this year?

Didn't I just see one of those little electronic things recently? I think it's somewhere in the Beatle's "Let It Be" documentary on Disney+ but I can't find it -- and I'm not about to watch all 9 hours all over again.

Did I dream it, ed?

Either way, you're pretty good! Put me in the Christmas spirit.

Can’t wait to see it Chuck, I know it takes a lot of effort.

Thanks Steve! I haven’t seen that yet, but since the Stylophone came out in the late 60’s it wouldn’t surprise me. They did like to experiment.

I have off next week so maybe I’ll pull out my Melodica. I used to know Carol of the Bells on it.

John Lennon played a Stylophone during a rehearsal of the George Harrison song "Old Brown Shoe" on 28 January 1969.

Thanks, Sidd. That will help me locate it in the movie.

About 6 years ago one of the local churches asked me to videotape their Christmas Nativity. Got there at 5 in the morning so it was dark and just used a couple of lights to get an early morning feel.

Thanks Bob it was a lot of fun to create. I was trying to make it so you could not see how big the figurines actually are (about 10 inches high) in comparison to the church. By filming in mostly darkness it gives it that film noir look.

Ed, didn't you have a marshmallow peep xmas video? I remember the other 2 you posted.

Sidd, I like the lighting in your nativity scene video.

As usual, great slide show and photos Sidd. You really had the light perfect. Makes our Nativity figurines look 'pedestrian'.

I think I did that Cheryl, but didn't want to over flow the thread. I hope you had a fantastic Christmas!

That was fun, Ed. Apparently you can still buy a Stylophone:

The price is right, too.

That sure looks like a lot of work. Not sure I'd have the patience. :TU:

Wow, that was very well done Sidd. The scene was beautiful and intricate. Very enjoyable creation. ::CLAP:
