Before Dawn, Monday morning, December 8, 2021, in the eastern sky will be one of the best viewing times... hopefully I'll not only be awake, but in a good location for observation and with out clouds or fog. Nothing but tall trees to the east of me.

Of course there will be other times it will be visible, but from seeing the beginning of the YT video, it looks like this may be one of the best times for the northern hemisphere.

Happy cloudless opportunities, all!

Paz are you going to try and record the event (skies willing)? If you do and get some decent images I hope you post them.

Looks like we are going to be full clouds from 3 AM to 11 AM followed by thunderstorms. phooey

I've seen more articles that indicate the comet may be less easy to see than the first reports indicated. Newer ones mention the possibility of needing binoculars.

I've also seen some things on YouTube that indicate someone is planning on live streaming. Sorry, I don't have a link for that one.

Trying to video a comet would be a lot like trying to video a star. The rotation of the sky is going to move 4 degrees every minute and the celestial object, if it is not a meteor, is not likely to appear to move at all, except for Earth's rotation. To get a truly good photo of that you need a tripod setup that moves in concert with that 4 degrees. So any still photo you see is as good as it is going to get - except the experience of truly SEEING a comet with your own eyes is most often a once in a lifetime one. I've seen Hally's and Kohoutek. If I'm lucky I'll have another chance at this one before it exits out solar system.
