Deer Friends

These ladies, and sometimes their guys, having been stopping by the house every morning and evening to eat crabapples. They love them. The two little ones used to be left in the back of the house during the day when they were fawns.

I could watch about an hour of them Ed. So peaceful it just calms me right down. Combined with that music it’s good bedtime fare. Thumbs up!

Those must be some tasty crabapples Ed. And the deer sure feel comfortable enjoying a munch. Less crabapple for you to have to pickup. That is unless they leave a deer surprise or two. :hyst:

Having the deer eating crab apples off of the ground must make it easier mowing.

A few years ago, one of the apple orchards around here had to erect a fence around an entire orchard because deer were eating apples right off of the trees.

I do like to watch them, they're basically tame at this point. The deer in the second clip is the mother, i've known her for several years now. Every once in awhile I throw her an apple or a carrot, and now she walks right up to me sometimes. The only downside is we can't have a nice garden like Sidd's because every time we plant something they eat it pretty quickly.

We are all jealous of Sidd's back yard what with that superb rose garden and all. :(

Well we do not get any kind of deer life at all in the backyard plus it's not all just a bed of roses. There are gardeners to yell at, folks cutting across the lawn to yell at, folks bringing dogs when its clearly posted to yell at. Basically a whole lot of yelling... lol

Here is a last look at the season before the roses go dormant. Recorded with the insta360 camera.

Watching deer is relaxing. They must really like the crab apples ed. I like the music you paired with the video. The deer have been active this summer in the neighboring corn field. They usually show up around dusk.

As to Sidd's rose garden, well you should see his pool! It has fence along the pool edge, very very odd. ;)

Lots of deer here at TreeTops Ranch also. Cougars take most of them. But some seem to survive until next year when they bring their babies around the house to show them off to us.
