Ed for what it does it’s a really good camera. The Insta360 Go 2 has modest video recording capabilities. The 1/2.3-inch sensor can shoot at up to 1440p (2560x1440) at 50fps. Where it shines is a camera for fpv drone flying and places that requires a very small camera. It is not a DSLR by any stretch and not a GoPro.

I'm seriously considering buying this camera. I've been wanting something small and unobtrusive for short sequences and b-roll. I own the Insta360 One X and the flowstate stabilization is excellent. If the Go 2 implementation is as good I'll be very happy.

It is most definitely not a GoPro replacement. Reading the reviews, if you try to shoot long sequences you will encounter overheating, especially with higher cpu intensive options selected, and all the attendant problems associated with that. Don't do that. If you want to use it like a GoPro, get a GoPro.

Assuming I'm not on the naughty list I might get a GoPro for my Holiday present. This camera does look interesting though. I love it's small foot print.

You can’t go wrong with a GoPro. Especially since the new one comes out in September. I will be thinking good thoughts for you Ed.
