This is really kind of cool. But is it for sale yet?

The link on the Youtube page takes you to a crowdsourcing page. I couldn't find it on Amazon. But similar pieces are starting at about $200.

Off topic, sorry. Rhetorical question/comment.

Just a thought that ocurred to me whilst reading this thread and video technology generally. Was it really only thirtyish or so years ago that cine and 16mm film faded from mainstream?

I remember back in the 1990s convincing the company I worked for that we could save a lot of money if people started using PowerPoint instead of having slides printed for every meeting. Was it really that long ago?

20 years ago I was using an overhead projector and printing my own transparencies (that I made with PowerPoint) to make presentations. A few years ago I set my overhead to the curb. Couldn't imagine ever having a use for it again. Yesterday I threw away a perfectly working Canon point and shoot camera simply because I hadn't used it in years. My last two iPhones take much superior photos.

Sidd, that's a really cool gadget. I can imagine that a lot of people will be using it, or something like it.

I feel so guilty when I toss old tech. I am always hoping I could just give the gear to someone who could use it but it is considered antiquated. I remember when the DV tape was just starting to get phased out and I kept thinking...no way my DV camera is outdated... the I started using SD cards and never looked back. I have kept a few old cameras and laptops just because they have the connections to get that "old" format tapes on to computer. But true to form it will take years to get it all on to a hard drive.

I guess as video enthusiasts there must bee some deep seeded "save for posterity" gene buried deep inside us.

For about US $109 on Kickstarter, you have an excellent chance of getting the OBSBOT AI-Powered Tracking mount in June.
