Drone Pilot Films Astonishing Bowling Alley Video

Postby Dave McElderry » Wed Mar 10, 2021 12:25 pm

The film begins with an overhead shot of Bryant Lake Bowl before the drone drops in and flies through the door. From there, Christensen threaded the needle as the drone circled over the lanes, flew into the innards of the pin-setting machines, and expertly weaved its way across a plethora of rooms.

Dave that is a really cool video. It is that new style of drone which is the cinewhoop drone that takes an extreme FVP video.

(fixed your link too)

Thanks for fixing the link Sidd. For future reference, what was I doing wrong? It looks like one of the same that I tried with no success.

Dave it looks like the link to the video came from a different website that you were looking at so the link does not work on this site to insert. So I went to YouTube directly and did a search on the title of the video you listed to find the video. The video on YouTube directly has a different link than the one you provided. So I just added that link and it now plays.

That is some amazing flying! I am guessing the audio was added in post?

That’s what I was thinking too. That drone would have been very noisy in there.

I agree on the audio remix but they really did a good job of syncing the audio.

Ed that have some simulation programs where you can plug your controller in and practice flying. I think for these type of videos they are using the goggles so that gives the flyer a much better perspective than trying to maneuver by sight. But watching that video I think I would have crashed plenty of times.

Looks like the "bowling Alley" dude got discovered......

The NHL asked him to do an outdoor sequence for the NHL's anual winter outside hockey game. Really some great piloting.
