He should be a car salesman. Some people just have a natural ability to sell a point. But that’s not meant to be negative, that’s often true of people who know what they’re talking about.

I had pretty much come to most of the same conclusions some time ago. I’ve experimented with 24p on my iPhone videos simply because I thought I might have storage space issues, but I now realize that that’s not going to be a problem and I think 30p will be my usual choice. I like the way it looks and I think it takes a lot more to get “film look” than just a 24p frame rate.

I watch quite a bit of YouTube stuff that’s done by content creators who often have a lot of motion in the vids. There are some very obvious differences in their videos. From what I’ve seen and what I know of the equipment they use, I’ve come to the conclusion that the quality of the equipment, and its ability to handle fast-changing scenes, is more important than the frame rate. I want to play with this more when the weather improves this spring, also including 60p. Interesting stuff.

I prefer 60p with 30p as the second choice. I have shot some things at 120p, but it drains the battery fast.

I shoot a lot with a gimbal and shoot at 30fps. If I want the 24fps look I create a 24fps project and import my 30fps clips which I then slow down to 80%.

24/30=0.8

So you want your 30fps media at 80% speed to be at 24fps.
