A question for anyone:
How important do you feel that it would be to have a motherboard with USB-C? I see that even those with it often don't have a connection to the front panel - rear only.

Dave USB-C seems to be the wave of the future. I see so many things now using it.

Just got home from buying a USB - C to USB -A, 3 foot (approx 1 meter) cord. I've plugged the C end into my new, wireless keyboard (a Microsoft 10 update killed my much loved IBM keyboard) and the A end into a two receptacle USB-A plug that plugs into the wall. The keyboard is charging - while I am typing this.

Wireless keyboard is fine until it runs out of go and then it begins screaming, well, light flashing : "I QUIT!" And then I have to find the USB C cord and plug everything into the C slot on the back of my computer. I don't remember for certain, but suspect the keyboard had to be plugged in via USB C before it could pair with the computer.

I'd go for one that had at least one C receptacle, even if it is on the back.

HTH,

Thanks Sidd and Paz. Your thoughts are pretty much the same as mine. But always good to get other opinions. I’m still using a USB keyboard that I got with present system 11 years ago. Suits me fine. I hope it continues to work.

I've got a USB-C connection on the back of my editing computer, but have never used it.
I'd rather it be there and not use it than need one later and not have it.

USB connectors have become frustrating. Since so many of the device makers have been supporting different version of USB like:

USB A-Type.
USB B-Type.
USB C-Type.
Micro-USB A.
Micro-USB B.
USB Mini-b (5-pin)
USB Mini-b (4-pin)
USB 3.0 A-Type.

I like that I can plug in my USB-C device to my computer or use my laptop battery charger to charge my device. And with a lot of devices the Laptop USB-C charger supplies a bit higher voltage so my devices can charge quicker.
