Note that there is a rather long discussion on Topaz's use of the word AI on another forum. Most of the video pro's there think that the term artificial intelligence used in this software is hogwash.

I understand that completely RJ. You should be able to get matching RAM off eBay for about 20 dollars. I got a pair; wouldn't work and I just swapped out for my older 8 gigs that came with the machine; they work beautifully. The only reason I mention this is, if your current machine will do 16 it would be a cheap upgrade 'til you can afford a new machine. That's basically what I have in mind.

Tree yer' probably right. I don't need the upgrade. Adobe does for me everything I need. You can see the difference in the pics RJ put up; very nice.

Thanks. I'll have to compare results to what I got with Vegas Pro 18's colorization fx, which takes a long time to process one frame; another overnight affair.

But though the results aren't perfect, it's fun to see aunts and uncles from the 30's in color as kids, wrestling, swinging, bicycling, my grandfather pulling potatoes out of the ground for dinner. Watching it in color just brings me closer to them. I'm just glad my great uncle was a camera buff.

I downloaded the Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Image Toolboxes from Mathlab to experiment with AI. I think that's the area of technology Topaz might use. Whatever definition Topaz is giving AI, it's the best technology out there available to consumers like me.

Speaking of AI, I thought this was interesting. To use the song lyrics as the key to have AI create an image.
