Sony has a compact camera powerhouse

Postby sidd finch » Wed Sep 25, 2019 2:53 pm

Saw this Camera from Sony the RX0 II, released in March of this year. It has the insides of a Sony RX100 V inside and is smaller than a GoPro. 1 inch sensor shoots 4k at 30fps. Looks pretty interesting in what it can do. The biggest downside is no continuous AF but for a matchbox sized camera this looks pretty cool.

Not really an action camera per se but more like a small powerful camera. I have to say that the tiniest aspect peaks my interest.

Looks like version I costs about $500-600. Version II is about $1100-1200. I didn't study the specs long enough to see the difference.

And it does look from this page like it's designed to be an action camera -- rugged and waterproof.

Looks like the biggest difference between the v1 and the v2 is that the v2 can record 4k 100mbs internally. The v1 can record 4k but has to use an external recorder which impacts the small footprint.

Also it looks like the v2 focus range is now 20 cm where the v1 had a 50 cm focal range. In addition the back screen articulates so you can see the screen in selfie mode.
