Re: Interesting...That is a tough pill to swallow especially that they are "testing" in select markets. At some point when the new camera technology surpasses the ability of CS 6 I am at a crossroads. DaVinci Resolve is looking more and more appealing.

Re: Interesting...Adobe actually has three Photography plans: 1) Photoshop&Lightroom(cc and classic) 20GB 9.99/month, 2) Photoshop&Lightroom(cc and classic) 1TB 20.99/month, and 3) Lightroom (CC only) 1TB 9.99/month. These have been offered for a while, it isn't anything new. It looks like Adobe is doing market testing to see whether they can eliminate option 1. We can only guess why. My personal supposition is that it is to bolster their Cloud Storage business. Whatever the reason, it's sure to bring out the people vehemently opposed to the subscription model. Brace yourself for a new round of vitriol.
I don't have an issue with the subscription model. If it makes sense economically and provides the functionality I need, I'm ok with it. I've been a subscriber to option 1 ever since it was first offered. But, I don't feel locked in at all. Photoshop and Lightroom are old friends, but there are alternatives and should it stop making economical or technical sense, I would have no problem switching.
Re: Interesting...
As you will note from my sig, I am using a tape based HD camera and it still meets my needs. When I finally upgrade it then I, too, will need to consider an alternative to PrPro - I have a fundamental dislike of the subscription model! As far as photography is concerned I will continue to use Photoshop CS6 . As far as I can tell there is no forthcoming compelling reason to change that. AMD Ryzen 3900x 12C/24T, ASUS x570 mobo, Arctic Liquid Freezer ll 280, Win11 64 bit, 64GB RAM, Radeon RX 570 graphics, Samsung 500GB NVMe 980 PRO (C:), Samsung 970 Evo SSD (D:), Dell U2717D Monitor, Synology DS412+ 8TB NAS, Adobe CS6.
