Editing a scene

Here's a terrific study of film editing, using a scene from "Bohemian Rhapsody" as a great example of what not to do.

Steve,
Thank you for posting that critique. It made me think about how uneducated I am. So much to think about when making a movie or otherwise.

I feel the same way when I learn "the language of film" as I do when I'm learning or talking about "the language of food" on my food tours.

There are many ways to experience anything. You can just enjoy it passively and let its work its magic over you. Or you can learn how the magic was created and appreciate how even the finest detail added to the experience.

One is not better than the other. But it sure is fun to learn to watch how the little things add up to the complete experience.

Wow that was a really good watch for me. Trying to understand all the aspects is really informative.
