TS FilesHi Guys. I am trying to download an Australian TV Show, called "Sea Patrol". There is five Seasons altogether. I can get them from the actual TV Site, but they are TS Files. I have managed to get them in MP4 format from another site, but I can not get one file, Season 2, Episode 5. It downloads OK, and the picture quality is perfect, but there is no sound. I have tried converting it through Converters, but to no avail. If I do find it on say You Tube or somewhere else, it says it is blocked due to some content. Yet all others are OK. Any suggestions as to how I can get the sound? Thanks in advance. L.N.
If you are faced with a forced landing at night, switch on the landing lights, if you don't like what you see, switch them back off.
Re: TS FilesAre these copy protected files? You're not stealing a TV show from a torrent site, are you?
Are you saying that the files you've downloaded have the suffix .ts? Can you play them with VLC Media Player? Open one of the .ts files in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy and paste the report it generates to this forum. At least this report will tell us if this is an editable video. But, if it is copy protected and coming from an illegitimate site, I'm not sure we can be of much help, Nac. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: TS FilesHi Steve. Thank you for your reply. There are Five Seasons, each Season contains 13 + Episodes. I have found a site where I have been able to download every episode in a MP4 Format, except this one episode. It won't even work on You Tube. I can download it in TS format, but there is no sound. The picture is perfect. Out of 60 + episodes there is only one that I can't use. Cheers L.N.

Re: TS FilesI look forward to seeing the MediaInfo report, Nac.

Re: TS FilesStrange that the MediaInfo report doesn't give us any information on the audio.

Re: TS FilesYes Steve, I noticed that also. I was just wondering why it is so. Also to Chuck, I have tried playing it through VLC, and no it doesn't work. Thanks for the help Guys. L.N.

Re: TS FilesWhat doesn't work, Nac? Does the file play without sound or does it not play at all in VLC Media Player?
It is interesting that this link seems to imply that it is a video stream (no audio) which would explain why you're having problems playing it. https://whatis.techtarget.com/fileforma ... deo-stream HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: TS FilesMPEG TS (.TS) is a container format. It can certainly contain multiple streams including audio and video. If MediaInfo doesn't show an audio stream, it doesn't have one. Probably the audio was dropped when the file was encoded -- possibly because it was corrupted or missing. The encoding library is identified as the Zencoder Video Encoding System which is a cloud based encoding system, I'd be very surprised if the studio used that.
Re: TS FilesThat is correct Steve. When downloaded, the file plays perfectly, but with no sound.

Re: TS FilesSimply put: This file plays with no sound because it has no sound.
I'm not sure what to recommend, Nac, as far as grabbing it for free. But, for what it's worth, season 1 does seem to be available on DVD from Amazon as well as on eBay for about US$30. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
