Talk about anything here.

Well after a weekend of clear air it looks like the winds have shifted again and the area is back to being smoke filled. I took the spark up at sunset to see how things looked from the air and although the sunset was pretty you can see how smokey it really is here. And, this is a week after the fires started and it is still this bad. Lets hope our firefighters have continued success in controlling this inferno.

So sorry Sidd! They said on the weather channel that the smoke in the valley will just sit there. Hoping for rain too. Cool video.

thank you for the kind word. Aside from the poor air quality we are all ok here. Although now 30 miles to the south (Santa Cruz) has a major fire that started...The Golden state might be less golden after all these fires.

Some footage of one of the harder hit areas. Weird how some of the trees are untouched.

I lived in Monterey and Seaside for about a year and a half in the 70's while I was stationed at Fort Ord. Santa Cruz was one of my favorite places to visit. The boardwalk there and the amusement park were a lot of fun. They had a great roller coaster there too.
