Thought I would see what the Muvipix community does outside of video and photography type stuff. Anyone have any collections or other hobbies? I have been collecting Movie Lobby Cards for about 20 years now, have a nice collection of cards from films in the 40's through the early 70's. It is an interesting hobby as there are usually 8 cards to a set and getting a complete set is not always easy. Once a set is complete then it is a challenge to improve on the quality of each card that is not in excellent condition. Lots of fun and I collect cards from movies that I really enjoy, like White Christmas and The Music Man. What Are Lobby Cards? So who else has a hobby outside of video and photography?

I collect old flashlights, corkscrews, and tools. I also do a bit of woodworking, although video has displaced a lot of the time I used to spend on that.

That sounds like fun, I know a few people who collect old tools. I used to do a lot of woodworking as well but it's been over 10 years since I have built or refinished anything. I still have all of the tools and equipment but will probably sell it all sometime this year.

The lobby cards are a cool collection Chuck. I didn't know they came in a set of 8. Wood working is a cool hobby too. My boring hobby is sewing. I mostly make things for the grandkids. Daughter will buy the material and drop off then ask if I will make xy&z. LOL Of course how do you say no? I used to sew a lot...my clothes, pillows, crafts, and curtains. When we moved to our current home I couldn't find valances I liked so I designed my own with matching pillows that have hidden zippers. My other hobby was creating desserts from experiments. I still cook and with just the 2 of us I am a short order cook. I gave up red meat last year so some nights 2 different main dishes. My husband doesn't care for healthy fish (not deepfried) or salmon. I do cook for a crowd a few times of year when family is over or we have a large group of students. My main hobby now is photography. I took a course on Creative Live recently. Lots to learn! I take a lot of photos of the grandkids, but don't share those on Flickr. Video is for vacation or special events.
